So this year more than many there are so many losses and adversities to focus on, but, let’s face it in isolated Perth, we have been very lucky.

We were largely unscathed by the bush fires that ravaged much of Australia early in the year and by the time that we all realised there was a pandemic brewing, we were lucky enough to have a sensible leadership at state and federal levels, and, possibly more importantly a community-focused population that care for each other enough to follow advice about how to manage what has become a truly frightful situation in many countries.

This year more than most has caused many of us to take a deep hard look at our lives and how we live them, and with a bit of luck, and a continuation of that community focus, we may be able to take away with us some really important ways to deal with the future crises that have also been simmering in our world for some time like climate change, poverty and inequality.

At Lynn & Brown we have taken a step closer to focusing on these important issues in 2020, with our alliance with and support of B1G1 www.b1g1.com.  This is a way that we can change lives every day just by doing what we do – providing quality legal advice with transparency and clarity in pricing in Commercial, Estates and Family Law.  At the time of writing this we are one of 2,787 businesses that are part of this global movement to support the 17 sustainable development goals:

To follow our progress see here:  www.lynnandbrown.com.au/resources/b1g1/.

Some of the initiatives we have supported this year include providing clean water to students in Zambia; giving cups of rice to children in crisis in Vietnam; and we’ve support education in remote Aboriginal communities, to name just a few.

We look forward to continuing with this initiative well into the future, and remember, every time you refer someone to Lynn & Brown Lawyers you enable us to support a wonderful cause.

If you are part of a business that might be interested in joining B1G1 feel free to contact us about how we have gone about it.

The introspection that many of us have experienced this year has also led me personally to develop a practice of gratitude, which, together with some meditation has helped me not only to get through this year, but to constantly remind myself how lucky I am, and how lucky so many of us in Perth are.

With this in mind, I would like to personally thank each reader for getting this far into this article, and for your ongoing support of Lynn & Brown.

From all of us at Lynn & Brown we truly hope that you have a wonderful festive season however that might look for you, and that 2021 is good to you.  Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year! Happy Hannukah! Merry Festivous!  If you haven’t already done so, do yourself a favour, and have a laugh at our Christmas video message:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls1iYPk5WhQ.

See you in the New Year!
