What we do

We have acted for many clients who service the mining industry in different capacities, from engineering consultants to product supplies. We have experience in a range of commercial matters, both advisory and dispute-based, such as debt collections, contractual disputes, contract drafting and providing legal advice on lots of different types of matters.

We have acted for an engineering consultant who prepared a report for a government department, and wanted to include a disclaimer and retract the authors’ names from the report, but wasn’t sure if this was permitted under their contract.  We reviewed their contract and ultimately assisted them to achieve their desired result.  Separately, we provided this client with advice about a commercial lease in which they were the tenant, allowing them to enter into the lease with confidence that their interests were protected. (Vanguard)

We have represented another engineering consultant in a number of debt collection matters, and, separately, prepared a loan agreement for them to ensure their assets were protected. (Rapallo)

We have provided advice in relation to contractual disputes and prepared guarantees and indemnities for another client, as well as assisting them in numerous debt collection matters. (Rock Team)

We act for a mining equipment provider, in a dispute in which the other side is claiming our client owes them money. Separately, we are working towards recovering a debt owed by a third party to this client. (Tiam Solutions)

Another one of our clients tests on-site equipment. We have successfully assisted them in a couple of contractual disputes with their former employees, who have breached terms of their employment contracts with our client.

    Why Us?

Why should you choose to engage Lynn & Brown lawyers to assist you with your legal matter?

We have a team of commercial lawyers, who specialise in providing commercial advice and dispute resolution assistance to companies that service the mining sector. Instead of being a generalised team that does a little bit of everything, we solely practice in the commercial sphere, so we are well versed on all things commercial law! Our lawyers have a combined 25 (+ Ben) years of practising law, meaning you can rest assured that you will be in good hands at Lynn & Brown.

Our commercial team is comprised of two lawyers (a Director and an Associate), a Law Graduate, a Secretary and our Chief Value Officer. This means that your experience with Lynn & Brown will be intimate and personalised and you will be able to communicate directly with the lawyer who has carriage of your matter. You’ll probably get to know most of us during the course of your matter, so you may wish to familiarise yourself with our team (are we having a ‘who we are’ kind of thing on the page, showing all of our photos?)

At Lynn & Brown, we do things a bit differently to most other lawyers – we offer fixed pricing. While most lawyers charge on time, we have done away with the timesheets and 6-minute intervals to offer transparency to our clients. After you come to see us, we prepare a Strategy and Scoping Proposal to achieve your objective for a fixed fee. We believe our fixed pricing model empowers our clients and gives them control over their legal matters.

Our main office is in Morley, but we also have offices in Ellenbrook and Perth City. This means you have the option of three convenient locations if you want to meet with us. But remember, you can also pick up the phone and call us at any time because we don’t charge on time.

We specialise in acting for mining industry service providers, just like you. We never act for miners, so you don’t need to worry about us working for the ‘other side’. We take pride in looking after our clients in a practical and efficient way and we always keep our client’s best interests at the forefront.
